Through a common friend, Jean-Pierre Lagneau, Cédric meets architect Christian Larroque from Bordeaux, who spends two days a week in nearby Guéthary.
Surrounded by a solid team of Basque artisans and with the support of architect Jean Vives, also of Bordeaux, he accepts to undertake major transformations and open the façade, creating a functional yet fluid marriage of past and present that will welcome the first guests just 11 months later.
From the very beginning Isabelle Juy, architect and interior decorator with Flamant Home Interiors, is involved in every decision: a major key to the success.
An immense thank you to carpenter Philippe Suhas and builder Fabrice Bourras, without whom L’Auberge would not be the same!
Thank you to Sylvain Alletru, who, with Wolfgang from Palux, has made me the most beautiful kitchen in France!
To Eric Hialé and to Laurent, who installed 40km of electric cables; To Carlos Alfonso, who learned how to build walls sideways; To Jacques Durroty, who discovered here all the shades of grey; To Alfonso Albino, a master of stone floors and their installation; To Hervé Rajol, Louis Etchenausia, Jacques Herrador, Daniel Mouchico, Jean-Jacques Cabane, and Anne Barrére for their great contributions!
A big thank you also to all of their teams. Those eleven months reconstructing L’Auberge were a terrific experience.
